The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department at the Dental College of Georgia, Augusta University (DCG-AU) is seeking outstanding applicants for a full-time faculty position at the assistant-associate professor rank depending on experience and qualifications. Both tenure and non-tenure options are available, although tenure track is preferred, as well as fellowship training, specifically in cleft craniofacial surgery and/or orthognathic surgery.
The primary responsibilities of this position is resident education, research and service. This position entails supervision of residents in a very busy outpatient clinic located at in the OMFS Department at the DCG, the Ambulatory Outpatient Center located at the DCG-AU on-call responsibilities, and direct patient care as part of the faculty practice group, participation in research programs and other collaborative activities within the DCG, Medical Center, University, and the community at Large. Fellowship trained individuals will be expected and supported to continue the expansion of the cleft craniofacial service already in place within the OMFS Department, as well as support the growing number of patients in need for orthographic surgery referred to the service. Fellowship trained individuals will be expected and supported to work closely with the Department of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry at the DCG-AU as well as the OB-GYN, Neonatal Intensive Care, Pediatrics craniofacial team at the AU medical center where strong collaborations are already in place.
We are seeking an individual with strong commitment to academia, teaching, research, scholarly activity, and service to the community. Salary will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications, experience, and credentials. The candidate must have a DDS or DMD degree from a CODA accredited dental school and be eligible for board certification or be board-certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. The candidate must possess or be able to obtain an appropriate license for clinical practice in the State of Georgia.
