Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty member at the level of assistant or associate professor in the School’s Dental Hygiene Program.
Responsibilities will include didactic and clinical teaching of dental and dental hygiene students and residents, scholarly activity, service, research and possible participation in intramural faculty practice.
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree or higher in dental hygiene education or a related field. They must be a graduate of a program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation; and possess a current license to practice dental hygiene. Candidates must be certified in local anesthesia, nitrous/oxygen sedation and current CPR certification. One-year of minimum clinical experience as a hygienist. Didactic teaching experience is also required. The candidate should also demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and demonstrate the potential for leadership.
The preferred candidate should have prior teaching experience.
The candidate must have demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff and student environment, or a commitment to do so as faculty member at VCU.
