The University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) College of Dentistry invites applications for a full time position as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at the rank of Associate or Full Professor on the tenure or non-tenure track. Rank and track will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs is responsible for the administration and assessment of all academic programs in the College and for developing innovative and novel educational approaches. The Associate Dean must function as an innovative leader in the ongoing development, assessment and improvement of educational outcomes and take responsibility for ensuring excellence in all matters related to the academic missions of the College. In addition, the Associate Dean is accountable for the coordination, implementation, and successful completion of the College’s accreditation processes.
Candidates must possess a DDS/DMD from an ADA accredited institution or its equivalent and/or a doctorate in related healthcare professions educational discipline or clinical sciences. Five years of leadership experience in dental education, innovative curricular design, pedagogy, and professional and/or point-of-care educational assessment methodology. A history of meaningful involvement with the ADA/CODA accreditation process. Experience with the American Dental Education Association or other dental organization sponsored educational initiatives. A proven record of administrative achievements that demonstrate interpersonal skill and management expertise. Preferred candidates will have experience in inclusive teaching responsibilities.
