The University of California, San Francisco, School of Dentistry, Department of Preventive and Restorative Dental Sciences, is seeking full and part-time faculty members in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series (at the ranks of Assistant or Associate Professor) to support its teaching programs in preclinical education. The appointment will be in the Department's Division of Preclinical Education, Biomaterials & Engineering.
UCSF is committed to the teaching and practice of being diagnostic centric, highly preventative and minimally invasive dentistry. Our preclinical simulation activities include utilization of the electronic health record, evidenced based critical thinking and treatment planning incorporated with hands on technical and procedural skills. Primary duties will include preclinical simulation teaching of predoctoral dental students, including lecture, seminar and hands on simulation covering all areas of general dentistry including diagnosis, treatment planning, prevention, restorative, endodontics, removable and fixed prosthodontics including implants, and nonsurgical periodontics. Secondary duties include predoctoral clinical supervision in general dentistry.
The individuals selected must have U.S. DDS/DMD or an equivalent degree. It is preferred that applicants have current or be eligible for California dental licensure. At least three years of clinical dental experience is preferred. Previous predoctoral teaching experience is preferred.
