The School of Dentistry, Department of Oral and Craniofacial Sciences, Division of Orthodontics at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) in Portland, Oregon is seeking an Assistant/Associate Professor & Predoctoral Program Director. OHSU is a nationally prominent research university and Oregon’s only public academic health center. It serves patients throughout the region with a Level 1 trauma center and nationally recognized Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. OHSU operates dental, medical, nursing and pharmacy schools that rank high both in research funding and in meeting the university’s social mission.
Primary responsibilities include administration of the Predoctoral Orthodontic Program, clinical teaching at pre- and post-doctoral levels, and oversight of pre-doctoral clinic rotations. Other activities may include academic program advising, specific and general scholarly projects, professionally related public service, departmental and institutional administrative activities, student support service activities, course and curriculum planning, and research and development.
The applicant must have a dental degree (DDS/DMD) and certification in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics from a CODA accredited school, with a MS or PhD degree. The ability to obtain a dental license in the state of Oregon is required. Candidates should have a demonstrable record of excellence in leadership, teaching, research, service, patient care, and academic management.
