    Tufts University School of Dental Medicine (TUSDM) is inviting applications for a full-time early to mid-career faculty position (Assistant Professor) in Department of Periodontology. (Start Date: ASAP)

    Responsibilities:


    Reporting to the Department Chair and the director of the Predoctoral Periodontology, the faculty member will participate actively in clinical and didactic teaching.  The primary focus of the position will be teaching and program support in the Predoctoral Periodontal Program.  Additionally, the faculty will have an opportunity to contribute to teaching in the Postgraduate Periodontal Program.  The faculty member may also be able to participate in mentoring certificate and MS degree resident research projects. The primary areas of responsibility will be:



    • Clinical/preclinical/didactic teaching utilizing evidence-based science and proactive learning model

    • Overseeing direct patient care in the teaching clinic

    • Assess student progress toward competency

    • Required to be standardized and calibrated in Clinic/Sim clinic operation and treatment planning

    • Serve in appropriate committees upon the request from the department chair


    Requirements:











    • A DMD/DDS from a CODA accredited dental program or equivalent international degree is required.

    • A certificate in Periodontics from a CODA accredited advanced education program in Periodontics is required.

    • Strong preference will be given to those who are Diplomates of the American Board of Periodontology.

    • Must be eligible for a dental license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

    • Preference will be given to those who have experience in the clinical instruction of Periodontics.

    Pay Range:


    Assistant Professor: Minimum $116,000.00, Midpoint $145,000.00, Maximum $174,000.00


    Please Note: Pay ranges represent full-time 12-month base salaries.
