    Work description



    1. Prepare the requirements specification for a software module that allows the use of large language models (Large Language Model);

    2. Fine-tuning pre-trained large language models (LLMs);

    3. Containerization and availability of trained models;

    4. Implementing the software module;

    5. Write the grant activity report.


     


    Academic Qualifications


    Degree in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science or similar


     


    Minimum profile required



    1. Experience in the use of Large Language Models, from a development point of view;

    2. Proven experience in fine-tuning large-scale language models;

    3. Proven experience in software development using the Python programming language;

    4. Experience in remote environment development and version control tools and methodologies.


     


    Preference factors



    1. Experience incorporating large language models such as Llama, Gemini and Phi into software development pipelines;

    2. Experience with the Xtuner fine-tuning tool;

    3. Experience in quantitative and qualitative evaluation methodologies for large language models;

    4. Experience in containerization technologies;

    5. Good performance in programming courses and the development of artificial intelligence algorithms.


     


    Maintenance stipend: € 601,12, according to the table of monthly maintenance stipend for FCT grants , paid via bank transfer. Grant holders may be awarded potential supplements, according to a quarterly evaluation process (Articles 19, 21 and 22 of the Regulations for Grants of INESC TEC and Annex II), up to a maximum limit of 50% of the monthly maintenance stipend.


    INESC TEC supports costs with registration, enrolment or tuition fees, during the grant duration, under the terms established in the internal document: "Payment of Tuition fees to grant holders".


     


    The grant holder will benefit from health insurance, supported by INESC TEC.
