Assistant Professor Tenure-Track Faculty Vacancy
The Prosthodontics d epartment in the Indiana University School of Dentistry i s seeking qualified applicants for our tenure-track faculty position. This will be a 12-month appointment at the rank of assistant professor at 1.0 FTE, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2023, or sooner.
TEACHING AND LEADERSHIP THAT IMPROVES LIVES
We are seeking a new faculty member with expertise and experience in all aspects of prosthodontics; specifically a faculty member ready to build upon the school’s and campus’s tradition of excellence, advancing scholarship, education, clinical service, and community engagement. The candidate will have expertise in digital methodologies and workflows in prosthodontics, including how those are implemented in didactic, preclinical, and clinical instruction as well as scholarly activity. Additionally, he/she will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and desire to create an environment that promotes collegiality, collaboration, and cultural diversity among members of various education, research, and service communities. In support of our school’s core values, this candidate will demonstrate commitment to serve as a role model and advocate for the ideals of professionalism and high ethical standards in a health science educational setting. Engagement in university service at the department, school, and university levels, including participation in departmental and school governance is expected.
The primary responsibilities of this faculty member will be to provide preclinical, clinical, and didactic instruction to predoctoral dental students, to participate in competency assessments, and to help implement a comprehensive and robust predoctoral curriculum using state-of-the-art and emerging technologies. Teaching responsibilities may also include course directorship(s).
In a limited capacity, he or she may have opportunities to participate in the postdoctoral prosthodontic curriculum in the Advanced Education Program in Prosthodontics. Certification by the American Board of Prosthodontics is required for the full-time faculty who participate in the postdoctoral prosthodontic curriculum.
The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to the department’s research enterprise (research in the fields of education, clinical patient cares, dental materials, and implantology), a focus on developing collaboration within and beyond the dental school, and a sustained record of scholarship activities.
Faculty practice and other revenue-generating opportunities will be considered for eligible candidates. The department is committed to professional growth for each of its team members through professional development.

Full consideration will be given to candidates who meet the following qualifications:
Completion of a DDS/DMD or equivalent dental degree
Experience in prosthodontic patient care, digital workflows, and teaching at the predoctoral level.
The candidate must have obtained an unrestricted Indiana dental license or an Indiana dental faculty license by the time of appointment. Information on state dental licensure is available at www.in.gov/pla/professions/indiana-state-board-of-dentistry
A certificate of advanced education in Prosthodontics from a Commission of Dental Accreditation (CODA) accredited program.
Master's degree (or other advanced academic degrees) in the fields of Prosthodontics, Dental Material, or Implantology.
It will be a bonus if you have
Board certification from the American Board of Prosthodontics
A certificate in Maxillofacial Prosthetics from a program accredited by the Commission of Dental Accreditation
Experience in teaching at the graduate level (Advanced Education Program in Prosthodontics)
Teaching experience or a degree in education
Ph.D. or other terminal degrees
