The Kornberg School of Dentistry invites applications for a full-time clinical or tenure-track faculty in the Department of Orthodontics. The applicant should have passed or be eligible to take the American Board of Orthodontics certification exam.
The department focuses on high-quality patient care, private practice model of education, and clinical scholarship. Applicants must have experience in clinical orthodontics. A PhD degree in a clinical or a related field, along with completion of post-doctoral fellowships, is required for a tenure track appointment. The successful candidate will join a diverse group of faculty, students, and staff dedicated to excellence in teaching, comprehensive patient care and scholarly activity.
Candidates should have a DDS/DMD or foreign equivalent; a Certificate in Orthodontics from an ADA-CODA accredited specialty program in the U.S. or Canada, and either certification by the American Board of Orthodontics or eligibility for it. The candidate must also possess, or be eligible for, either full licensure to practice clinical dentistry or a restricted faculty license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Preference will be given to applicants with previous didactic and clinical teaching experience. A strong commitment to patient care and the education of residents and dental students is required.
Responsibilities include didactic and clinical teaching of postgraduate and dental students, curriculum development, implementation of program policies, research supervision, scholarly activities, and service. The candidate must also be competent to provide direct patient care as a specialist in the Department of Orthodontics’ faculty practice for at least one day per week as part of their teaching responsibilities. The search will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
