What You'll Do

The Director of Practice Management has oversight over a team of individuals and operational and strategic processes that support students/residents and faculty. They oersee all clinic/practice/department practice operations, with a primary goal of maximizing revenue, monitoring production and maintaining the budget, while ensuring patients are informed, understand and agree to treatment, by ensuring all pre-treatment consents, waivers, treatment plans and any/all applicable forms are signed/dated. The Director is responsible for the day-to-day administration of all aspects of the Dental School’s practice and clinical operations, ensuring all applicable policies, protocols and guidelines are adhered to and works continuously to improve internal processes to enhance and support the patients, residents, and students’/residents’ experience.
Responsibilities include:
  • Manages the day-to-day operations of the pre-doc and postgraduate clinics
  • Oversees a team of Practice Managers, Practice Administrators, Dental Assistants, Call Center Coordinators that support the clinic operations of the TUSDM pre-doctoral and postgraduate clinics. Provides on-site supervision of staff, addressing any on-site concerns in real-time
  • Works collaboratively with TUSDM Clinic Deans, Department Chairs and Program Directors in managing daily operations, functions, and support staff for the clinic operations
  • Interacts with faculty, staff, patients, and external contacts and serves as a principal resource on administrative and operational matters of the clinics to ensure consistent and efficient operation of the office including staffing, training, and scheduling
  • Directs the patient experience and patient relationships and manage patient complaints. Functions as primary resource for staff when confronted with unpredictable patient situations and/or behaviors
  • Monitors provider's schedules to ensure that staff maximizes opportunities for efficient patient scheduling and timely patient flow
  • Measures office performance objectives utilizing specified Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Profit and Loss (P & L) reports
  • Collaborates with Chief Medical Officer to ensure safe, consistent, and efficient continuity of care and patient operations, including infection control, HIPAA, OSHA, and compliance with relevant regulatory policies
  • Supports School and University compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Functions as subject matter expert for the electronic health record, axiUm scheduling, including chair schedules, opening and closing schedules based on annual, planned events
  • Coordinates with residents and students regarding treatment plans, including timelines, insurance benefits and payment options for complex and extensive treatment plan presentations
  • Documents and communicates patients’ financial responsibilities to all internal teams, ensuring timely and accurate collections
  • Collaborates with the Revenue Cycle Team to aid in accurate patient demographics and insurance intake and verification and patient collections
  • Participates in marketing goals and objectives for the student clinics

What We're Looking For

Basic Requirements:
 
  • Knowledge and experience typically acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree and minimum of 10 years related professional experience within a healthcare clinical setting, including at least 5 years of supervisory experience and 3 years of experience in a dental practice
  • Knowledge of dental medical terminology
  • Ability to work on-site in a clinical setting
  • Excellent organizational skills including time management and scheduling logistics
  • Exceptional customer service skills, broad-judgment, independent thinking and problem solving
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree

Pay Range

Minimum $136,200.00, Midpoint $170,250.00, Maximum $204,300.00

Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
