The Eastman Institute for Oral Health (EIOH) in the School of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Rochester seeks an accomplished academic leader to serve as the next Clinical Director, Chief Quality, Compliance and Safety Officer, at the rank of Associate or full Professor. In addition, this senior leadership position carries the titles of Director, Office of Quality Improvement and Compliance (OQIC), and Medical Director.

EIOH is located in Rochester, in the Finger Lakes region of western New York, and ranks as one of the preeminent graduate dentistry educational institutions in the world. For over 100 years, EIOH has been a leader in providing dental care services for the underserved, training dentists at the graduate level, and conducting world class basic, clinical and translational scientific research. The EIOH is an integral part of the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) with a major presence on the main Medical Center campus and numerous clinical locations in the community including several mobile dental units. Since the founding in 1917, EIOH has been successful in training future dental innovators and leaders, earning a well-deserved reputation of excellence throughout the world. EIOH trains approximately 150 advanced graduate Dentists/students, includes 85 Faculty and over 300 staff. There are 7 Departmental Chairs and Program Directors for 10 CODA approved programs.

This is a unique opportunity to provide strategic leadership and oversite of numerous aspects of EIOH clinical and non-clinical functions. The Chief Quality, Compliance and Safety Officer works closely with URMC leadership, representing EIOH on various URMC committees, as well as interacting with University Office of Counsel. The successful candidate will provide clinical or didactic teaching, consistent with his/her area of expertise. The ability to conduct research, seek funding for research, and have experience in strategic planning is highly desirable.

Basic Qualifications: Must possess a DMD or DDS degree from a CODA accredited dental school or equivalent qualifications to be eligible for dental licensure in New York; have a minimum of 8 years of leadership experience in a dental and/or healthcare environment, including experience with public and private regulatory agencies; evidence of successful management of a staff team. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.

  • I. Policy

    2. Recruitment
