Position Summary
As a Postdoctoral Associate in the largest comprehensive university-connected research foundation in the country, you will perform independent and directed research to achieve the objectives of the research project within your department. Your work will require the theoretical and practical application of a body of highly specialized knowledge.

A new postdoctoral position is available at the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. The project is focused on immunological aspects of obesity-associated macrophage biology in the periodontal osteoimmunology.

Tasks you will be responsible for include:
Performing experiments that require cell culture, qPCR, NanoString gene expression, RNAseq, flow cytometry
Animal husbandry, genotyping, colony management
IACUC compliance, lab notebook, lab presentations, training and supervision of graduate students

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate must have a PhD degree in biomedical science with published experience in any of these fields:
Immunology/osteoimmunology
Molecular biology
Cell biology

Preferred Qualifications
Recent graduates are encouraged to apply
Experience with immunohistochemistry, imaging including micro-computed tomography, and confocal microscopy
transgenic animal work and animal husbandry/colony management
Experience with NanoString, qRT-PCR, and RNAseq technologies preferred
Experience with magnetic cell sorting preferred
Small animal surgery experience preferred
Experience with in vivo imaging systems (IVIS) preferred
