Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Dentistry is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty member at the level of assistant or associate professor in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry.
Responsibilities will include didactic and clinical teaching of dental students and residents, scholarly activity, service, research and participation in intramural faculty practice, including hospital-based practice.
Candidates must have: a DDS / DMD degree or foreign equivalent, a certificate in pediatric dentistry from an ADA accredited program, be eligible or certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and be eligible for licensure in Virginia. The candidate should also demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU is also required.
The preferred candidate should possess a history of clinical practice care, academic teaching and scholarly activity. In addition, demonstrate the ability to adapt to change and embrace modern technology; demonstrate the ability to contribute to and participate in a humanistic environment of learning; and demonstrate the ability, or acquire and develop such ability, to incorporate adult learning theory, evidence-based oral health care, and innovation in student learning and crucial thinking.
