The University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine invites application for a position at the Assistant or Associate Professor Level, non-tenure track in Oral Medicine, Pathology and Radiology. Candidates are required to have a DDS/DMD or equivalent; possess or be able to obtain an appropriate license for clinical practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; and either be Board eligible or certified in Oral Medicine. The successful candidate will be expected to communicate and interact with members of multidisciplinary health care team and have a commitment to teaching, clinical dentistry, research/scholarly activity and service. This multidisciplinary and multi-campus environment represents a truly collaborative environment that cultivates exploration.
The successful candidate will be expected to provide patient care in a clinical setting as well as manage hospital consultations. Preferred experience or education in hospital dentistry who actively participates in the Head and Neck Surgery, and provide dental evaluations and treatment for patients undergoing radiation therapy, cardiac surgery, chemotherapy, and organ and bone marrow transplants. The candidate will actively participate in the teaching of students and residents and must have the ability to diagnosis, and manage orofacial, odontogenic and mucosal disease, head neck and orofacial pain and neurosensory dysfunction and oral manifestations of systemic disease. Preference will be given to candidates with advance training in clinical and translational research and who have the ability to apply imaging studies and. interpreting. Qualified candidates will be eligible to participate in faculty practice plan.
