The University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine (UPSDM) is accepting applications for a full-time faculty member in the Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. The faculty position is in the appointment stream (non-tenure), and the faculty member’s rank may be assistant professor, associate professor, or professor, depending on experience and qualifications. The primary responsibilities will include didactic and clinical instruction of students and residents, scholarly activities, interdisciplinary care, and participation in the delivery of cutting edge orthodontic care in clinical enterprise of the department of orthodontics. Participation in the faculty practice is also expected. We are seeking an outstanding individual with excellent leadership skills to contribute to all aspects of our clinical practice, our educational programs, and the research impact of our institution.
The candidate must have a DDS or DMD degree and be eligible for board certification, or be board certified, by the American Board of Orthodontics. The candidate must possess or be able to obtain an appropriate license for clinical practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, have an area of clinical excellence, and an interest in mentoring. Favorable consideration will be given to those with additional expertise, training credentials such as a dual specialty certification, PhD, fellowship qualification, or other advanced degrees. Salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and credentials. Desirable candidates will have substantial experience as a scholar, unique clinical talents, and proven leadership skills. Application reviews will continue until the position is filled.
