The Department of Oral Biology at the College of Dentistry, University of Illinois Chicago is seeking to fill a full time position at the Clinical Assistant Professor level. This faculty member will participate in teaching, service and scholarly activities in the College of Dentistry. This person may be required to direct a graduate course in the College's graduate curriculum.
The successful candidate is expected to develop and implement anatomy content for the predoctoral and graduate curriculum, provide instructions in anatomical sciences (gross anatomy, embryology, neuroanatomy and histology) presented in lab and didactic sessions within the clinical context of an integrated organ systems-based curriculum. The candidate is expected to collaborate with basic and clinical science educators and program directors to coordinate the horizontal and vertical integration of anatomy within organ/system-based courses, design, and implement cadaver dissection- and prosection-based anatomy laboratory experiences for the College’s curriculum.
Qualifications:
Eligible candidates are required to possess a PhD in anatomy or related field, or equivalent degree and have experience in teaching anatomical sciences content in a health professions program at the pre-doctoral and postgraduate levels.
Preference will be given to candidates having experience such as leadership in teaching, mentoring and research, ability to mentor pre-doctoral students and graduate students, expertise in neuroanatomy and teaching experience at both pre-doctoral and post-graduate levels.
