Associate Dean for Academic Affairs
Woody L. Hunt School of Dental Medicine

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso (TTUHSC El Paso) invites applications for the position of Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at the Woody L. Hunt School of Dental Medicine (WLHSDM). This is a unique opportunity for an innovative leader to implement a new DMD degree program in a new dental school.

TTUHSC El Paso is experiencing vibrant growth. The community of El Paso has provided significant funding to address a critical health care need. WLHSDM will become the fourth school at TTUHSC El Paso, which also includes the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine, Gayle Greve Hunt School of Nursing, and the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.

The school’s mission is to improve the oral health of the people of Texas and the greater El Paso community by: a) focusing on the unique oral and overall health care needs of the border populations; b) demonstrating excellence in education, research, and patient care; c) providing leadership to the practicing community and other area stakeholders.

The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs will report to the dean and provide administrative leadership for the DMD curriculum and lead the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) self-study and site visit planning. The Associate Dean will oversee curricular development, program planning, assessment, academic policy development and strategic planning.
