These are Postdoctoral Fellow trainee positions on our NIH (NIDCR) T32 Institutional Training Grant. We seek individuals who wish to pursue careers as independent investigators in dental, oral, and craniofacial health research. Research areas of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Oral biofilms, microbial pathogenesis, microbiome, and microbiology
- Connections between oral and systemic diseases
- Immunology and innate host defense
- Saliva and salivary glands
- Oral and craniofacial development
- Bone and connective tissues / tissues engineering
- Cell biology
- Clinical and translational research
Candidates who bring expertise in immunological, biochemical, bioinformatics, and/or molecular biological approaches are encouraged to apply, as are those with dual degrees (e.g., DDS/PhD, DMD/PhD, MD/PhD). Please note that dentists (DDS or DMD) seeking PhDs in our Oral Biology PhD program are also eligible for appointment to these T32 postdoctoral trainee positions.
Duties include conducting research in the lab of a T32 faculty mentor, preparing and presenting research findings, preparing and submitting independent research proposals, teaching and training graduate students, and fully participating in the academic life of the department.
