Health Promotion/Health Policy/Health Economics/Epidemiologic Researcher -- NYU
A full-time, tenure-track position is now available in our vibrant and collegial 9 member Department of Epidemiology & Health Promotion.
We seek a scholarly and active population-based researcher, who focuses on investigations relevant to Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, within the context of a broadly defined primary health care delivery model, with relevance to the expanding model of oral care delivery systems, e.g., possibly including Smoking Prevention/Cessation Counseling, Obesity Control, Diabetes Control, Addiction Control, Health Economics or Health Policy.
Past research directly in Oral Health, while appropriate, is not required, as the NYU College of Dentistry has an established track-record in hiring research intensive, tenure-track faculty, with varied disciplinary backgrounds, e.g., 12 of our research-intensive, tenure-track hires since 2005 (55%) have held Ph.D. degrees, but not dental degrees.
We seek a faculty member who will expand the already underway integration of our College into the larger university perspective, via collaborations which our Department and College now has with the other Schools and programs at NYU, including the MPH in Global Health Program, the Medical School, the College of Nursing, the Cancer Institute, the Engineering Program and the School of Public Policy, as well as the College of Arts and Science.
Primary responsibility will be in the area of research, with some teaching duties which could include offering general research design or health promotion content specific lectures/courses, with Departmental graduate programs (M.S. in Clinical Research, MPH in Global Public Health, T32 Postdoctoral Fellows in Epidemiology and the DDS curriculum).
Strong preference will be given to applicants with active and established, successful track records in obtaining grants at the national level.
Rank and salary will be commensurate with background.
