JOB PURPOSE

The College of Dental Medicine at the University of Sharjah is seeking a well-qualified candidate for a full-time position in Pediatric Dentistry. The suitable applicant should have a proven record of undergraduate teaching and research, as the College forges a research culture, and aspires to be the leading dental school in the Gulf region.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES & EXPECTATIONS

1. The appointee should have experience in heading the discipline of paediatric dentistry and be able to improve the curriculum for undergraduate teaching as well as help develop curriculum for postgraduate teaching.
2. The appointee should have an excellent research record and help contribute to multidisciplinary research in any of the three Research Groups, namely, Wound Healing and Oral Diagnostics, Biomaterials and Biomimetics, and Biofilms in Health and Disease.
3. The successful candidate is expected to provide clinical services in the Centre of Excellence under the governance of University of Sharjah.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

1. BDS or DDS, and PhD or equivalent doctoral degree
2. At least  3-year structured clinical training, Master in Dental Surgery (MDS)/ fellowship or board certification in the area of specialization from a recognized authority
3. Experience in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and clinical supervision
4. Proven record of research
5. Applicant must hold a valid full dental licence in the area of specialization
6. Applicant must be eligible for UAE Ministry of Health specialist dental license
7. Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
