The University of Kentucky College of Dentistry is seeking applicants for a for a full-time Public Health Dentist position as an Associate Professor/Professor in the Division of Adult Dentistry, Pediatric Dentistry, and Dental Public Health, Department of Oral Health Science.
Preferred applicants will have a DMD as well as an MPH or PhD, and a history of successful grant writing and scholarly activity. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an innovative, internationally competitive research program, supported by external funding to establish research initiatives designed to build on a rich history that Public Health Dentistry has enjoyed in Kentucky. The development and maintenance of community partnerships designed to improve population oral health will be a primary focus of this faculty member. Other responsibilities will be management of current outreach programs and existing state grants, and participation/development of appropriate student educational opportunities (DMD, MPH, PhD).
We are looking for an individual who will collaborate in discoveries that will enhance understanding of the risk/susceptibility to oral diseases and focus on systems and behavior approaches to address more effective prevention and treatment.
Applicant(s) who have publications in the area of oral health will be given preference. Prior administrative experience is also desirable. Candidates must be eligible for an unrestricted or faculty-limited dental license in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. This is a full-time, tenure-track/tenured position. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
