Faculty Position, F33400
Virginia Commonwealth University, School of Dentistry is seeking applicants for a full-time, tenure eligible faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor Level in the Department of Endodontics.
The main focus of this position will be to carry out research in an area related to endodontics, and other disciplines in dentistry. This faculty position will provide the applicant the opportunity to build a research program in the Department of Endodontics while working with other ongoing research initiatives within the VCU School of Dentistry. The ideal candidate will have leadership potential to bridge theresearch disciplines in Dentistry and programs within the Philips Institute. In addition the appointed candidate must be able to teach endodontics to our pre-doctoral DDS students and graduate master’s degree candidates.
Candidates must have a DDS, DMD degree or equivalent, and a proven track record in research with the ability to obtain extramural funding. Preference will be given to candidates with the PhD degree. In addition, candidates must demonstrate the ability to contribute to and participate in a humanistic environment of learning and discovery, demonstrate the ability to adapt to change and embrace modern technologies,demonstrate experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU, and have experience in teaching of clinical and didactic Endodontics as a trainee orfaculty member.
